A number of skin conditions and aesthetic imperfections can be improved with a new laser skin resurfacing technology available right here at our practice. Using the SmartSkin™ CO2 fractional laser technique, Dr. Kwolek can reduce signs of aging and sun damage and even help your skin to replenish itself with healthier layers. This innovative treatment, developed by Cynosure, is a new way of attaining effective skin rejuvenation with a quick, non-invasive procedure that requires little downtime.

The SmartSkin™ CO2 laser treatment is designed to rejuvenate specific areas of skin that are affected by a range of aesthetic issues. Using light energy, the SmartSkin™ laser is capable of providing a number of benefits in a quick procedure that involves no surgery, minimal discomfort, and typically results in minimal recovery time. Benefits of this procedure include:

•  Reduction in the appearance of wrinkles and fine lines

•  Reduction in the appearance of age spots

•  Reduction in the appearance of sun damage

•  Improved skin tone and texture

•  Stimulation of collagen for healthier skin growth

SmartSkin™ treatments are customized for each patient in order to provide you with the best possible results.  Dr. Kwolek will meet with you in an initial consultation to discuss your goals and talk with you about all aspects of   SmartSkin™ CO2 fractional laser treatment. Together, you and Dr. Kwolek can decide if this procedure is the best option for your needs.

The SmartSkin™ CO2 laser procedure typically begins with a topical anesthetic applied to the area targeted for treatment so that you will feel as comfortable as possible. Then, the laser scanner will be gently waved over the targeted areas, emitting small pulses of energy that helps to rejuvenate the outer layers of skin and stimulate the growth of underlying collagen.

The entire SmartSkin™ CO2 laser procedure usually takes less than 30 minutes to complete. Patients will likely experience a feeling of a mild sunburn and some redness and crusting the first few days after treatment. Some of the effects of SmartSkin™ CO2 laser treatment are apparent right away, but patients will continue to see improvement and rejuvenation as the skin regenerates new collagen.

Laser for Age Spots | Laser for Redness | Laser Hair Removal

Laser for Age Spots

Sun freckles (lentigines) can appear with sun damage and age. Our laser system specifically target these pigmented lesions for removal. The most common areas that are treated include  the face, back of the hands, and chest.

Laser for Redness

A large number of patients suffer from rosacea, redness, and broken capillaries. The Diolite and Perfecta lasers are effective in treating these conditions. There is usually minimal discomfort associated with treatment. Afterwards, the patient may be slightly pink for a few hours to a day or two at most. Complications are extremely rare. Areas commonly treated include the face, neck, and chest.

Laser Hair Removal

For patients who are tired of plucking, waxing, or shaving and of getting only temporary relief from unwanted hair. Our Gentlelase or GentleYag system can safely and effectively remove up to 80% of your hair permanently after five monthly treatments. This laser system passes a beam of light through the skin and is absorbed by the hair bulb. Through heat, the hair bulb  is destroyed. The laser also has a cryogen spray and dynamic cooling system which protects the skin throughout the hair removal process. The basic structure of the skin is left intact while the unwanted hair is removed. The laser is only effective on hairs that are in the growing stage of their cycle. By spacing treatments a month apart, different hairs are more susceptible to the laser. The average patient needs five treatments.  To learn more about our lasers procedures and to find out which treatments is best for you, we encourage you to call our office to schedule a consultation.
